Police Searching for Suspects in Early Morning Robbery
ABILENE, TX – Abilene Police are searching for possibly the same two suspects who robbed a convenience store and attempted to rob two others.
Dispatch received a call at 12:47 a.m. Friday, March 10, 2017 of a robbery that had just occurred at a convenience store located on the 3100 block of Oldham Lane. An employee says a black male with a white bandana over his face, wearing a black hoodie and jeans, came into the store with a long gun, and demanded money. The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
The second call came in to dispatch at 1:26 a.m. from an employee at a convenience store located on the 200 block of South Pioneer. The employee was in the back room of the store. When he came out he says he saw two black males, one with a white bandana over his face, black hoodie and jeans, holding possibly a shotgun in his hands. The employee locked himself in the back room and called police. He did not come out until police arrived and the two suspects had already fled the area before police arrived.
The third call came in to dispatch at 1:41 a.m. from a convenience store located on the 4400 block of N. 10th. The clerk says he noticed two black males walking up to the store. One was wearing a black hoodie, black pants and a white bandana, and also had a long style gun. The clerk says he blocked entrance into the front door and did not let the two suspects inside. He called police and they fled.
In all three instances, the suspects are described similarly. All three incidents were possibly perpetrated by the same suspects. Both suspects were described as teen aged black males. This is an active investigation and no arrests have been made.
