GOALS FOR ABILENE

  • Ensure that Abilene's long- and short-term water needs are met
  • Maintain and deepen the city of Abilene's relationship with Dyess Air Force Base
  • Encourage citizens of Abilene to be engaged with their city government, and promote clarity, transparency, and efficiency in the actions of the city government
  • Maintain a diverse economic environment where businesses can grow and thrive, and help Abilene capitalize on Texas' population growth and economic boom
  • Provide vigilant and careful stewardship of tax dollars
  • Ensure that Abilene remains a place where families want to raise their children
  • Maintain best-in-class police and fire departments to ensure public safety
  • Retain strong relationships between the city government and the local school boards, colleges and universities, state government and federal government
